We’re not goign to have the flower girls actually throw any flowers (mostly because our venue charges a few hundred dollars to clean up the pedals – which I consider absurd, but whatever) – so I tried to make something fun that they could carry around and possibly play with after the ceremony.
I also went a bit of a non-traditional route with their outfits – and made headbands that matched the wrist corsages that I made for all of the leading ladies in my wedding (not having a wedding party).

Thanks! I think the girls will have fun with it. I figured since I’m not having a white dress myself, we could have fun with the flower girl outfits.

Do you have a tutorial or a step by step, I’d really like to make something like this for my daughter/flower girl. Thanks!

The wand was a bit of a random project, I just started on it without a real idea in the end. The paper flowers are kusudama flowers (http://foldingtrees.com/2008/11/kusudama-tutorial-part-1/). I glued 6 of them together into a bit of a half-circle. The wand/stick portion is actually a thick tube that I cut off the bottom of a faux flower that I had around my home. I found the cute sparkly ribbon on clearance at Joanns and just wrapped it around the stem, hot-gluing it every few inches. There is also a leaf on the back that I glued on that also came from a faux flower I had.
Sorry it’s not more detail – this was really a random project that turned out cute in the end.
