DH and I did this together. I spray painted the frames (got them 50% off at michaels!) then distressed them. Then he put them together using brackets and plywood on the bottom. Then I made the “lid” out of foam board, batting, fabric and ribbon. The finished product was put on top of a lazy susan (it was plastic so we couldn’t screw the box into the lazy susan) so it could be spun for everyone to see all the pictures. And we used our engagement pictures in the frames. We were very happy and proud of this =)

It is gorgeous! I love it and am stealing the idea! How did you distress the frame?

I am curios to know how you cut the piece of wood and how thick was it? DId you have someone at home depot do it for you? I don’t have any hardcore saws at the house to cut the wood?

This is one of the projects on my list and I am going to use this tutorial.
She uses foam board. I think I will probably use foam board also but if you want to use plywood just have them cut it for you when you buy it. I work at Lowes and we cut small and large wood projects all day. Hope that helps!
