- Wedding: September 2012
This is my first DIY post, I have been SO inspired by this site, I definitely wanted to post once I finished a few of my projects.
I’m getting married in France, so the invitation wording is a bit different. I thought I’d include it, just in case anyone else is in a similar situation!
They don’t really do response cards in France, just a phone number/address/email on the invitation. But for me, it cluttered up the main section (and it was just too weird for me as an American to not have any cards at all!), so I did two cards, one with rsvp/contact info and the other with hotel and venue info.
I got the idea for the ribbon alternative to a pocketfold from this post, and the velum/eyelet combination here. I am pretty happy with how they turned out, the only thing I wish I had done differently was the front stamp, done a larger square in brown around the fuschia to have a contrasting outline around it like in Mrs. Eggplant’s post. Now that I’ve been looking at them for a month, it just seems unfinished somehow to have only one square. Oh well.
I didn’t have a heat gun to emboss the tree stamp, so just held it over the toaster, which works well but is VERY hot! Only had 50 invitations to do, so did it over a few days. Luckily a friend lent me her heat gun for my other projects, I still have a lot of things to stamp: favors, table numbers, seating plan . . . I just love that stamp!
