This is another one of the 3 candle designs that we are using at our reception. I had originally thought of making margarita gel wax candles, but then they never had the margarita glasses at the dollar store after I had my heart set on making them, so I had to do a little change of the plan. Although after making the first couple of these they fit better with my flowers than the margarita candles, so I am happy that things worked out as they did!
These took a little longer to make than what I had thought they would, but the end result was worth it! I bought gel wax from hobby lobby and gel wax coloring from there as well. I then got a cheap sauce pan to use to melt the wax so that after I was done I could just throw it away and not have to worry about trying to scrub it clean. I also found it easier to pick up the pre-cut wax wicks and attach them to the bottom of the candle holder than try and make them all myself with the wick roll. Making them was super easy! You just melt the wax, add the color, and pour. I did find though, that if you tried to melt too much wax at one time it would cause your house to get smokey and smell bad, so I would definitely recommend only doing a little at a time. After that, you just have to wait for the candles to cool so that you can pack them away until you are ready to use them!
Here are all 27 that I made
