For our modern sculpture garden wedding, I created a LOVE painting station instead of a traditional guestbook. Just wanted to share this very unique and fun idea! It turned out wonderful! Our guests had a blast with it…. even though many of them didn’t really follow the directions to stay in one sqaure…hahaha!

I bought a 24x24inch white canvas and drew the LOVE letters on there with a pencil– I’m an art teacher. Then, I used a thick black sharpie to outline the letters. The finished product was not how I expected it to be, but it was a hit.
If you plan to do this, what I suggest is to paint the letters/background first and then have people paint their name/design on there. I basically have a piece that looks like graffiti. The LOVE letters barely stand out.
GL! Let me know if you have any questions!

Can we see a picture of the final product? We are doing something along the same lines. We will be offering colored markers and paints. With a sign asking people to write, draw, paint or doodle whatever they like. We were thinking just having a black canvas.

I’m in Baltimore and the canvas is still down my moms (where we had the wedding)…. but, as soon as I get it back I will post a pic!.
@Mandy~ I like the idea of a black canvas…. I feel like everyone ended up doodling, signing, doing whatever on ours and the letters are a little lost amongst that all.
I just wish the background was colored and not white.
I still love it though…. just have to find a place for it now!
