Hair Help - Thin Hair

Hair Help - Thin Hair : wedding inspiration makeup round face side bun side part thin hair wavy Hair1Hair Help - Thin Hair : wedding inspiration makeup round face side bun side part thin hair wavy Wedding Hairstyles For Long Hair

Hi Ladies!  Does anyone else have long thin hair like I do?  Or know more than I do about hair? Wink I am clueless when it comes to hair.  I am having trouble choosing between an updo (side bun style) and a down style (side part wavy style).  I have included pics of both of my inspirations above.  Any advice on which of these might work better with my hair type?  Or if either will work with my hair type?  I also have kind of a round heart shaped face, which is why I am keen on the side part, but would appreciate advice on this as well!  Here is a pic of my in my reception dress (to get an idea) -

Any advice/suggestions when it comes to wedding hairstyles?  Thanks!!! Laughing

You actually have fine hair, not thin hair. Fine hair means that each individual hair is very fine and thin; thin hair means that you do not have enough hairs on your head. Smile I also have fine hair which absolutely refuses to stay in curls or in a complex up-do for more than 30 minutes. And I also have a similar face shape to you so I will be doing something similar to picture #2. I think the day is going to be stressful enough without me worrying about whether my hairdo is cooperating or not! I also want to look like myself, which means hair down unless I'm at the gym. I think a down-do would be lovely with your reception dress. Do you have another ceremony dress?

I also have fine hair! Any tips or tricks to keep an updo .. up? (Not sure if this should be under pictures :) )

I generally need enough hairspray to induce permanent brain damage for my hair to stay up.... so down it's going on the wedding day :-)

Thanks for pointing out the diff between fine hair and thin hair, yes I have thin hair, hehe.  I thought that an updo might be better at first with fine hair as I am worried that down hair won't hold the curl/wave.  But once I started looking at updos, I realised that for some you actually need thickish or at least normal hair.  If I put my hair in a bun it is tiny!  So I think I may be leaning back towards a down do.  Plus I always think my face looks very round and big in pictures, so having it down might help with this.  Do you have any hair inspiration photos for hair styles you are considering for the wedding?

Also yes, I do have a different dress for the ceremony.  I just wanted to have a dress I could change into a bit later in the evening when I've had a few drinks and want to be a bit more comfortable Smile  Hence the reception dress.  I have a separate post going about how to get rid of a post-alteration arm pit fat situation on my ceremony dress, haha, but here is a pic -

Ooh, I love your  ceremony dress! I have a tulle dress also. For my hair I was thinking of doing this but with a side part. I am hoping the waves will hold on me!

Clip-on extentions will help you get more volume!

Unchatenfrance, I like that hairdo with a side part, I think it's kinda what I was thinking of as well.  I bought a hair flower to wear in my hair, so I think the side part provides a more strategic place to put the flower.

I also have never thought about hair extensions!  That def might be an option.  Or at least some fake hair if I decide to do a bun as my bun would never look like the bun on the model without some help.  I am going to schedule a trial for some time in August.  Maybe I can try both and see which one is more flattering.
