I found a beautiful picture online of some barefoot beaded sandals and I instantly fell in love with them. Once I came across the price (over $100 a pair) I decided that I would test my craftiness and see how well I could replicate the picture.
These handmade beauties took me HOURS to make. I’m haunted by perfectionism and if I noticed the smallest imperfection I would rip the sandal apart and re-make it. After the first try I realized why they are so expensive to by vs make but I am happy that I was able to duplicate the original set that I came across.
I have shown my sandals to friends and family and now everyone wants a pair! Luckily after making a set for myself, my maid of honor, my bridesmaid and my soon to be mother-in-law, I can make these quite fast.
Most of the beads (the pearls and the clear glass beads) I bought from Michael’s but I found some beautiful accent beads (the circular sparkly beads) as well as the clasps and chains at a local bead store. The total purchase price of the supplies I purchased works out to be approximately $30/pair.
If anyone is interested in purchasing some sandals please message me as I am willing to sell a couple pairs.
