My FI and I picked out my engagement ring together at a local jewelry store that I have always loved. He bought it that day, and made me wait until the proposal to have it. He finally proposed but after about six months I was having serious ring regret. I still think this first ring is gorgeuos and I am totally in love with the Halo trend, but I didn’t think it left a big enough impact on my size 8 finger. This ring was tcw .66, center stone was around .28, 18k white gold. Every time I showed this ring off to friends or family I definitley thought I could sense that they were underwhelmed with it. This caused the first bit of doubt to creep into my head. After I sent the ring in for a repair concerning the center stone, I definitely felt that it was no longer the ring for me as I hardly missed it while it was gone. I felt so bad that I wanted something bigger, and I didn’t want to hurt my FI’s feelings or sound selfish, but I couldn’t fight the way I felt. After all, I’m going to be wearing this ring for the rest of my life, and I want to LOVE it! So after consulting my FI, he agreed that he wanted me to be happy and we went back to the jeweler. They were so awesome about it and helped my find my perfect ring! It’s a .88 carat round diamond solitaire with a knife edge 18k white gold band, classic! I now have the option to fully customize the band of this ring later in life, or keep it as a solitaire and pair it with whatever wedding band I fancy! Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I would love to know what everyone else thinks of my ring change and hear/read any personal experiences with ring regret/change! Thanks!
