Hey ladies, this is my inspiratin pic. I love baby’s breath and not because it’s cheap (although that helps) but because in big bunches it looks very etheral and elegant (in my opinion). Anyway, I need some help deciding how many stems of baby’s breath is shown in this pic? What do you think? Also, any ideas where I would be able to purchase or rent these long vases? Thanks

Ou can get vases in varying sizes from the Dollar store in boxes of 12 or 24 i think. And as for the baby’s breathe I say go to a florist and make a few test bouquets. That way you can figure it out and see how much you will need.

The tallest vase I seen at the Dollar store was 8in so if you can’t find at the Dollar store try Hobby Lobby or Michaels. They often have half off coupons. I also love this look and I hear babys breath is pretty cheap.

My BFF is a florist and when I talked to him about doing something like this for my daughters wedding he told me surprisingly baby’s breath is not that cheap. I am willing to bet you are looking at $35 to $50 for that size.

I was thinking about doing the same kind of arrangements for my centerpiece but went with something else. Not cuz I didnt like the idea, but becuase I got a great deal on candelabras. Anyway i think theres about 20 or so stems in there. What I was going to do was go to walmart/BJS/sams club and ask if they can pre order you enough to do a test centerpeice. Order makebe like 50 stems or so. Then play with it, see what fullness you like and go from there. Whats in your pics looks easy to do and looks really nice. Then once you decided how big or small you want it, go online, check out prices and buy from the best bulk distributor. And since babys breath are hardy they can be ordered the week of the wedding. But brok-MOB is right, if you go to a florist they are going to charge a lot just to put it together eventhough the actual babys breath is cheap. When i went to the florist to get an estimate, she qouted me around $75-100 per centerpeice for the amount of stems I wanted. But either way, good luck and I hope you can find the vases 🙂

I’ve decided to go with the vases provided by our venue, they shorter and a little wider and I’m DIYing all the centerpieces myself – I’m not afraid of DIY and yes I was planning all along to do a trial ahead of time, just thought I would get an idea. Buying in bulk through costco, so far they are the cheapest, I’ve looked into several other bulk distributers but costo still wins. The idea that this might be 20 stems though, is kinda scary coz that’s a lot.

i just went to costco this weekend and happen to by sheer luck run into the floral director..this is after i went to 3 florist that gave us quotes of $500+ + + fror babys breath, when we are providing centerpeices!
Costco DEF is cheapest.. she told me that the average would be roughly 2-4 of THEIR bunches, ( i guess each of their bunches is roughly 10 stems) and they start at 9.50 each- she said they do order in bulk and they can be ordered two weeks prior and picked up 3 days before.
They are by far the cheapest and we may be doing this as well.

judging by the stems you can see in the vase, looks to me to be about 20…if you’re looking for the full effect od the picture, I’d probably recommend that much regardless.
Hope they turn out the way you’re dreaming of!! 🙂 Baby’s Breath is very pretty…good choice!
