Had a request to post this over here in the DIY section!
$5-8 Glass Vase from Marshalls, TJ Maxx and Homegoods
$3.70 12×12 Mirror from Save on Crafts
$2.35 Chocolate taffeta runners from another bee from classifieds
$6 a strand for the silk orange orchids from Pier 1 Imports (2 centerpieces per strand)
$1 Floating candle from Michaels Craft Store
$1 Candle plate to fit on the top of vase from dollar tree
$1 Glass stones from dollar tree
$1 Tealights from christmas tree shop
Ribbon I had laying around but will get from Michaels, Still have to get glass holders for tealights and some of those larger candles– hope you like! Thanks for letting me share!
EDIT: I forgot to mention an important element!! In case you didn’t realize, the vase is filled with water to amplify the look of the orchids… no one can tell they’re fake! 🙂

Beautiful!! Did you use regular water or distilled water?? I read somewhere about little bubbles and that if you used distilled water it would prevent this. I really do not know if I want to pay for distilled water. Tap water is free!!

I used regular old FREE tap water! 🙂 I think any bubbles that came, settled.

GORGEOUS! My sister in laws and I did something similar to this but did not have the candle plate. I wish we had! The candles burned but then eventually sank a little, causing most of the candles to be flameless after 1.5 hours. 😛

Love this idea! We’re using 3-4 different size vases with submerged dedrobium orchids and floating candles on 1/2 of the tables. It’s an easy, affordable and creative DIY centerpiece!!

These are lovely! I’m curious how you are attaching the ribbon to the outisde of the vase? I am doing something similar and I’m not sure if I should use hot glue, glue dots, spray adhesive, etc?
