- Wedding: December 2010
When I originally envisioned my wedding it was a summer beach affair with tropical colors like coral, aqua, and yellow. Enter budget police…
The cost and logistics of my seaside affair started to blow up my purse strings! As a result, we have decided on a more modest backyard affair. And boy am I glad! Since we’re getting married in my parents’ backyard, their event booking schedule was pretty open 🙂
That allowed me to have a winter wedding, which, as anyone that has lived or visited Florida in August can attest to, is a much more comfortable option. I also got to play a little more with color. Blue and brown has got to be one of my favorite, classic color schemes. But I also like reds and pinks and yellows. I was toying around with color palettes when I received inspiration from an unexpected source- a scrapbook layout. The page in the magazine was a beautiful combination of blues, browns, and reds. I instantly fell in love:
It was even a winter layout and utilized a branches and birds motif, which I have also adopted. There is a bird/branch design in many of my stationery projects and I’ve used the color scheme on EVERYTHING! I’m so excited about these colors and I feel like the wedding gods sent me a little divine inspiration on this one. Now, I can’t even imagine a coral and aqua wedding.
Did you get inspiration for your color scheme?
