what if you scanned in a picture of the purple stamp and made it your background?  Then you could control the lightness/darkness of it and you wouldn’t have to wait for it to dry.  Also then you could place it perfectly every time in relation to your text.  I think it looks beautiful.  These suggestions are just ways to make it go easier.  Aslo then you could resize the stamped image if you want it on your inserts.

If you have a scanner just stamp the image onto white paper (so the paper color doesn’t cause a problem).  Insert the picture into word set the image transparency to whatever you like and place the image behind the text.  I don’t know how to do it all that well and I am not sure if it would be better to stamp it in black and then assign the color in word or stamp it in purple from the start.  I think you could do it all in word. I know other brides did something with the transparency part to create their initial in the background of their invite.  Google how to make a watermark in word (or whatever you are using),  Good luck please post pictures when you are done.
