- Wedding: May 2013
We performed a Las Arras ceremony at dinner, presided over by my very happily emotional father. In this Spanish traditional ceremony the groom drops a pouch of coins into the bride’s hands and she then drops them back into his hands and they both put the coins back into the pouch together. It is meant to symbolize “what’s mine is yours.” We used the same coins my parents used at their wedding and added our own to the mix (my mother even made the pouch that held the coins out of her wedding dress).
