Saw these in a magazine and thought there was no reason to spend $5 each on them when I could make them myself! Really nice home-made touch for anyone that wants to incorporate wine, food, elegance, personal touches in their wedding.
Get as many corks as you have wedding guests (drink a bunch, have your friend’s save them when they drink, buy online)
Gather some friends (also helps if you have some champagne!)
Use an electric sander to sand one side of the cork so it will lay flat
Using an exacto-knife or large chopping knife, cut a slit in the top while it lays flat on the side you sanded.
Stick a place-card in the slit.
