alexiatssn :  your ring is absolutely beautiful!  Would you mind sharing your carat and finger size? I ask because I have a marquise and ours look similar and I really love the e/w I just am not sure how it would look on me because I have larger fingers. ugh.

alexiatssn :  our stones are very similar in appearance. Marquise, as you know, can vary so much in size and shape. But I saw yours and it very much reminded me of mine. I have a size 6.5 finger on a good day, a size 7 more realistically, and I am just ot sure the e/w would look “good” on my giant man hand lol. My mom loves the e/w setting and really pushed for me to do it but I ultimately went for the n/s due to my big hands. If I ever make the switch I will be sure to test it out first. Luckily my jeweler does his work right there in house and can quickly set things for me or rig something up relatively quickly lol. I just love your ring and your diamond. It looks very beautiful on your hand. Did you choose the marquise cut or was it a surprise? Have you always loved marquise? I went from a round to the marquise and I am loving it. I am not sure it will be my forever diamond, I am always trying to inch my way up in size lol. But at this time I am loving shapes.

So I finally got a band. I am showing you a pic because I am not sure you will have this problem like I did and I know ours are set differently, but omgosh I had a super hard time fitting a band with mine. I finally had my jeweler cut a notch out and still had a little bit of a hard time fitting a band with it. I finally found this one at my jewelers place. I wanted one from costco but it just still didnt fit with the notch. But my jeweler has great stuff and its covered with him and it was a better choice all around BUT not as big as the one from costco but all in all I am happy with it. will you do a band?

alexiatssn :  I am still new to weddingbee and just now saw your response 🙁 anyway, what a fun surprise. I feel like it is such a fashionable ring your husband must be very much involved or had a someone super amazing helping him. The east west was such a brilliant and kinda “new” way of setting a marquise I think he did great. He took a very rare cut and made it even more unique! I never ever looked at marquise either for the same reason (being dated), but when my jeweler told me about the stone I have now I was still reluctant to look at it, but I am glad I did, I think its super versatile and fun. I LOVE your ring I cant wait to see it with a band. perhaps youll post a pic when you get it? 🙂
