Hi! The chalkboard paint is such a cute idea for the lids! I was thinking of doing mason jars for glasses, I already purchased them, but now I am having second thoughts.

I was wondering what your guests thought of drinking out of them? Did they bring them up to the bar and get refills everytime, or did you have other glasses for the bar? I was worried that it would be such a big glass to have mixed drinks out of and especially if they were drinking out of a straw, they may get too tipsy too fast! Just wondering how this worked for you? Also anything else you could tell me, advice, tips, ect.! I’d really appreciate it 🙂

What size jars did you use? Did you have a sign telling people to take a jar for thier glass, or were the glasses on the tables already? How many guests did you have? Sorry for all the questions, just really need some guidance. Please help!

I LOVE this idea!! I was having the same concerns about the Mason’s jars but really want to use them.  Were having a farm wedding and just thought they’d be so perfect and much cheaper than renting a milion glasses.  I never thought of using the lids like that though- so cute!    Thank you for the idea:)  I wouldn’t be worried about people overdrinking because of their size- if people are going to get drunk they will just get drunk regardless:)  My caterer seemed to think people would refuse to drink out of them?

One last question though- how did your servers handle making a different drink in the same glass (ex. been drinking mixed drinks and now switching to beer or wine).  We don’t have a sink in the barn so I’m wondering if it will be enough to just dump?  Also thought of giving the servers extra water to just do a quick rinse…but will it be grose?

Any thoughts?

for Jenabboud: you can buy 1 piece mason jar lids.  They even sell them on Amazon – I just checked.  Some places even have different colors or paterns.  Hope that helps.  I don’t know what the op used but that would be my guess.

I really love the seating chart you used – what are the dimensions that you used?  Did you make it yourself or buy it?  Thanks for your help!
