- Ms Fondue
One of my first wedding-related purchases was my garter. I bought a cute black and white set from Sheer Satin and Lace on eBay.
Here is the tossing garter. Look closely and you can see the double heart charm.
I liked the double hearts, but I thought the guys would like something a little more… Nintendo. So, I bought two charms from TheClayCollection on Etsy in the shape of NES games. For the toss garter, I got Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt, and, for the keepsake garter, I got the original Final Fantasy. (I also ordered a little something special for Mr. Fondue, but more on that later.)
The decorations on the garter were attached with hot glue, so, to switch out the charms, I simply heated them up briefly with my embossing heat gun. It just took a couple seconds of blasting it for the glue to melt.
The keepsake garter disassembled.
You can see in the above picture how the charm was just on a little piece of ribbon. I used the same ribbon and threaded it through a needle to place the new charm on it.
Ready to be glued.
Then I simply hot glued everything back together.
Voila! Two gaming garters!
