I was searching for an elegant, but different solution for our place cards – I didn’t want only paper standing by itself.
This is what I found (after a long time searching…). The Cards have the same fonts, but each has a different butterfly. I made them with power point and punched them out.
Okay, and here’s the tutorial:
How to create place cards in power point (ppt):
FYI: I’m working with a German ppt, so I’ll just translate the names. It could be, that a funktion is named differently, but at least you know what you’re searching for and I’m sure you’ll find it.
First you need to find out how big your puncher is. So cut something out and measure how big your shape can be in ppt (Attention: Your shape must be at leat slightly smaller than your punched out shape). In this tutorial it’s going to be an ellipse.
Draw an ellipse in ppt – right-click on it and go to “size and position”. Type in the height and width you measured before.
Click on “formate AutoShape” and choose colors, lines, filling… you can also choose the style of the line.
When you’re happy with your ellipse, you can edit the text (-> right click -> edit text).
If you want to add some text not right into the middle, insert a text box (I typed in a butterfly from a butterfly font).
You see it’s pretty easy!
