Remember when I posted about my trip to Paper Source? And I was all happy and giddy about my envelope liner template? Well, I have something terrible to reveal to you all. Behold:
Our envelopes and the template. Notice anything?
Yeah. Me too.
But peeps, if you have learned anything about me over the past few months, it should be this—I am a lazy, lazy bride. I love thinking about the big picture, but when I run into snafus in the details? Forget it. Which is exactly what I decided to do about the liners.
Well, I didn’t forget them completely. Oh no, it’s never that simple. You see, I still wanted liners. I was just too lazy to create a new template that would fit my envelopes. Instead, I lopped off the top of the liner to force them into fitting. Presto, chango, done! As Miss Snapdragon would say, I MacGyvered my way through it.
So here’s the step-by-step guide to lining your envelopes. Guerrilla-style.
First off, you need a comfy pair of slippers that makes your fiance laugh whenever you wear them.
Now that fashion is out of the way, you take your template and outline it on the paper. I went for adhesive wrapping paper (Mrs. Emerald gave me that tip!), which made adhering the liners to the envelopes SO much easier. I highly recommend it.
The other plus about the adhesive paper is if you’re using a template, it keeps it from sliding all over the place.
The finished product. I can’t tell you how much time I spent agonizing over whether or not the fact that the liner doesn’t completely fill the envelope is a big deal. In the end, I decided that I have bigger fish to fry, and it doesn’t look all that bad. After hand-addressing and lining 78 of these bad boys, I am WAY over them.
Ta da! Thank goodness these are done!
