I frequent a store called Tuesday Mornings and I am not sure why. They get seconds and overstocks and have the randomest collection of things I do not need. Typically they have a random assortment of monogrammed things and I decided I must have these M napkins in honor of my new last name to incorporate into the place settings. Then amongst my other stamping/embossing ideas and projects – they must be embossed!
I bought them $2 per pack for 20 napkins. Normally they cost $5-6. I see they have them at Amazon for 81 cents a pack so I am going to pretend I didn’t see that and just share it with you! We are having 120 people (we think – I believe the invite list is bigger but Mr. 10 is in denial – I am embracing it and planning accordingly).
Embossing was not difficult. I arranged and re-arranged the alphabet letters by Martha Stewart I picked up at Micheal’s on sale until they looked great. Then I went over the my mom’s house and enlisted her help. I stamped – she powdered. The key to embossing is to powder them as quickly as possible! You gently tap the excess powder off and set them aside. Once we had a few, we zapped them with the heat gun to emboss them. It took us 3-4 hours to do these because it was more difficult to get the excess powder off the napkins then off regular paper and one of the A’s was being snarky and my mom was a newbie to embossing.
Costs – letter stamps $10ish already had, metallic green embossing powder $5 will use again, pigment stamp pad $4 have used already and will use again, heat gun $20 with coupon used and will use again, M napkins $2×7, letting my mom get involved – priceless.
