i just did this!  it took me about 1 1/2 hours to do each map.  i did one for the ceremony site, and one for the reception site.  great DIY!  it is my first, and was really easy!!  i already have CutePDF Writer (which I suggest everyone to have, just for everyday documents that you want a copy of), and plan on printing them myself onto card stock that matches the invitations.  thank you!! Awesome instructions!  I am going to make one in photoshop with layers, but it wouldn’t have even occurred to me to do it myself until I saw this tutorial.  Thank you!

This tutorial saved my LIFE, thank you so much for posting it!  I had made maps to put in my invites using my home printer already but I thought they looked kinda lame, and didn’t want to spend a ton of money on something else- but when I saw your tutorial I decided to try it.  It took me about 2.5 hours, but it was so easy and I adored the result!  I used photoshop to save it as a high resolution image, and then uploaded the image to vistaprint and put it on a postcard.  On the back of the postcard I just added text with our hotel info.  In all, with shipping, the total cost was about $10 for 100 of them and I’m so happy!!  I’ve included a copy of the image here for anyone who wants to see 🙂

I loved this tutorial! I made myself a draft (the weddings not for another year) because we know where locations are & won’t chage. (They are also really close- half a mile apart). Mine took me under 2 hours & it looks great- like a homemade, special map! It looks way fancier and more expensive than they really are! I love what powerpoint can do! Thank you so much for sharing!!
