I just discovered the greatest resource for those of you still looking for inspiration for your DIY invitations!
Bridalocity offers a number of free templates (most require MS Publisher 2002 or higher, but some are Word-compatible). They’re all very tasteful and elegant, and so helpful for anyone still searching for just the right layout for their invites. Even if you don’t use their exact layouts, things such as proportion, font, and spacing can be helpful while designing your own .

The templates are under the “resources” tab on the top menu. You can actually find all of these templates free through http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/CT101043291033.aspx.
If you are familiar with OneNote, there is a Wedding Organizer template that I found this morning – so far, I really am enjoying it (but I know OneNote well and have a tablet laptop to maximize efficiency using the application).
Hope that helps!
