Did I ever tell you I’m a procrastinator? Well, I am. And our Save the Dates should have been sent out a month or two ago, and I’m just now at the point where I’m ready to address them and get them in the mail (hopefully, before Turkey Day!). This time, I blame my procrastination on creativity overload. I had so many ideas for the STDs, but finding something to make that was both easy to produce and cost-effective was challenging. After a few trips to the drawing board, I decided simple was better.
And all of you get to see them before our guests will!
Here are all of the pieces ready to be assembled.
I used an olive green card stock for the backing, white card stock for the info card, recycled kraft paper envelopes, scrap paper for liners, a corner-rounder punch, Shutter Stock graphic, Adobe Elements and my cheap-o HP inkjet printer. I was pleasantly surprised by how decent the printer worked.
There were three different paper designs used for the liners. The paper I used was purchased in one of those packs of random scrap paper for $4.99. I’m pretty sure I used a 40% off coupon for Michaels to sweeten the deal. The pieces were just the right size. The liner barely covers the desired area and I only had to cut about a half or a quarter inch off of each side to make it work.
I made the liners the same way as Miss Champagne, by first creating a template to fit my envelope
And here’s a close-up of the final product:
I guess you can’t tell from my crummy photos, but the brown ink is a pretty close match to the envelopes.
I’m glad I went with an easy-to-make design! And I’m glad these are hitting the mail box in the next day or two. **crossing my fingers**
How many months out from you wedding day did you send your Save the Dates?
