The last thing I wanted to do was pay 30 dollars for a garter, especially if I was going to end up tossing it behind my back to a group of intoxicated men who would probably end up wearing it as a headband before losing it some time in between taking a shot and stumbling to the bathroom. I found a garter at Walmart for just a few bucks, so I decided to take the plunge and get one. But when I got home and opened it up, this is what it looked like:
The lace was hideous! Even if I wasn’t going to wear a garter during the ceremony and just needed one to throw during the garter toss, I didn’t like this one at all. So I tried to salvage it and take a pair of scissors to it. A few minutes later, I ended up with this:
I cut the lace and the horrid bow off, and attached my own bows using cute white ribbon and a couple of glue dots. Not bad for four bucks and 10 minutes of my time!
