Thank you :)
I guess the bouquet is a bit heavy, but I didn't have trouble carrying it around most of the day. But a bouquet toss is definately out of the question... ;)
looove it! how many brooches did you use? i have a large collection of vintage brooches but i'm not sure if it would be enough for a bouquet. also, were any brooches harmed in the making of this bouquet? lol i would love to keep mine intact.
I just tried to count the brooches and I guess we used 50-60 of them. The bouquet weighs 1 kg (little over 2 pounds).
We have worked on the bouquet 4 afternoons:
1: After collecting all of the brooches, they were put on wire
2 & 3: Arranging the brooches and making the construction hold
4: Using satin fabric to make the wire less visible and make the bouquet hand
But I have to admit we didn't work not all afternoons from 12-18. We did chat, have a cup of coffee and let my hubby and FIL share their opinions.
We spend a lot of time arranging the bouquet, at first trying our different options and then thinking about how tho make the bouquet stay in the shape we wanted.
No brooches were damaged, but some of the pins are fragile. Be sure to handle them with care! :)
I really doubted if I should do this, becaus of the work and our inexperience with making a bouquet. But it was a wonderful experience and I now have a beautiful bouquet in my living room!! :)
My mother in law and I made my brooch bouquet.

There is a whole construction underneath the brooches. My MOL is so creative!
I didn't have bridesmaids. That isn't the norm where I'm from. We did have two flowergirls (we call them bridesmaids)

The brooches are not kept together by styrofoam, we used metal wire.
