- Wedding: October 2012
Months after I’m paying back all the help I got from you wonderful bee’s. Here are some shots of our candy buffet, and a little bit of details of how I made it.
We got married in October, so finding candy in bulk wasn’t an issue, but i was still a savvy shopper and hit up stores like Sam’s club, or my local co op.
To make these candy labels I found a business card template on word printed and added bit of glitter. I had left over card stock and glued the tag on to the card stock to make it stand.
For the these vases I cut card stock and wrapped it around, using a few glue dots to hold it in place.
Now most of my jars are dollar store finds, The local dollar tree came to love me. I was in at least twice a week. My big cookie jars were lent to me by a friend, she had got them at wa-lmart for her wedding.
My candy trees were inspired by this post from another bee http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/candy-buffet-dum-dum-wreath#axzz2S9XNI9i1
I have another post on how i made My candy trees here, http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/dumb-dumb-tree-kinda-pic-heavy#axzz2S9XcxLin
We had a ton of suckers left over afterwords. My mother told me some people were afraid that it would fall over since people tended to grab mostly from one side.
I would suggest really weighing down the flower pot. Mine were just small tin ones filled with rocks. (I can’t find a pic of the finished ones close up sorry girls)
Finally, our love is sweet sign. Again I found it here http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/our-diy-candy-buffet#axzz2S9XcxLin
Printed in word, and made a frame.
I have the template that i used saved and can email to anyone who would like it.
Lastly was our candy bags. I went to hobby lobby and got about 100 clear treat bags for around $3 each. Then I got big mailing labels, I looked around the free templates listed on the label website and made 2 different ones. 1st was the fun candy corns,
And a more “grown up” one
Hope this all helps, I am more then willing to send any pics, templates or help to any bee who needs it.
And remember enjoy it!
