- Wedding: August 2017
I’ve just finished my garters and am dying to show someone as I am super pleased with the result. FB is too close to home so you Bees get to see it first.
As my dress will be a tulle ballgown, I didn’t want the traditional lace+ribbon garter.
I followed this tutorial from Bec’s blog where she explains how she made her sister’s tulle garter : http://chasingcottons.blogspot.be/2012/02/gorgeous-gartera-quick-how-to.html
I had fun playing with glue gun and rhinestones, a peach ribbon that belonged to my grandmother and was waiting to be used in my mother’s attic. I also added large diamantes on the bow (salvaged from a pair of slippers shhhhh!) and cute good luck plastic charms that my 8 year old niece lovingly brought back from school for me when she heard she’s going to be my flowergirl.
Putting bits of my life into my work is why I love to DIY, and my wedding is the best event to do just that!
