I knew I wanted a flower for my hair, but also knew I didn’t want to spend the $75 that bridal shops had on their hairpieces. So, I strolled into Claire’s one day and found the headband below BOGO. So, I bought 2 (in case I messed up) for a whopping $6. I already had the sewing supplies, but wanted a little more bling. So I picked up some sparkly pendants in the jewelry aisle of AC Moore and got 3 for $2 with a 50% off coupon. I then bought hair combs at Hobby Lobby for $1.
I cut the elastic part of the headband off, leaving about 1/2 inch on both sides – I needed something to sew to the comb. I sewed the pendant into the center, then sewed the flower onto the comb.
Voila! My $9 hair flower.
