I have been wrecking my brain for months trying to decide on the perfect invite. Perfect meaning very, very cost effective. Here’s what I have so far…
I used 12×12 cardstock paper in gemstones (has a nice shimmer). I will do half white(cream) cards and half black. I scored the cards in half (6in) w/ a scoring board and knife.
I then cut the scored point to make 2 cards. (cut w/ and eacto knife and ruler for nice precise cuts) I turned my cards length wise and scored at these points:
top flap 2 in, middle 61/2in, and bottom (for inserts; 101/2).
I will then fold at the scored points and tape the corners for the inserts.
Next I cut the backing cards for the invites. These are cut at 41/4 x 56/8.
To assemble I used corresponding ribbon to tie around the invite(using a glue stick). Our monogram will be placed on the front using round label stickers. I will later make response envelopes and tickets for the response cards (i’ll post pics later). So far I’m pleased.
Thanks to all of the posting from other bees, I found all the tools needed to make my invites. Thanks
Glad I’m getting an early start!
