I found the perfect parchment roses. Perfect!
Except they are 23.00 a dozen…and I need….*eeep*…7 dozen.
Enter Martha Stewart Coffee Filter Roses!
I was so excited–I didnt have any yellow paint (or anything yellow for that matter) and it was 11pm— so I used red food coloring and medical tape LOL. I promise I will get the correct tools today!!
Heres my first one, I love her so much I plan to name her 🙂
Of course, this one took me approx 20 minutes…and all night to dry…and a few burnt fingers to curl! I am not looking forward to the rest of the seven dozen!
Did anyone here make their own roses? How many did u make? how long did it take? Any words of wisdom??
eta: trying my best with the pics…bear with me

looks great! Kinda weird, I was just looking at Martha Steward coffee filter roses just this morning at work and was planning on trying it out.
it may have taken you 20 minutes for that one, but i’m guessing by the time you get the hang of it, it’ll probably take half that time.. And you could always make all the petals ahead of time

ok. i gave this a second try and it worked out great! well except for the whole painting it part anyway….fyi…dont use the cheap water colors in the school supply isle. they dont even have enough paint to complete one entire rose. i think im just gonna try your food coloring idea 🙂

I spent about three hours on you tube searching to make the best tissue paper rose, i found a site, unfortunetly dont recall it, but make them and they turned out cute. I need to make 125 of them so i feel your pain! But now i think i may try this idea instead.. thank you so much!!!
p.s.. it should get faster the more you do it.. the first tissue paper rose took me bout 20 minutes, 10 of them later it took me bout 5 min.

This absolutely gorgeous. I thought about making mine but found packages of them at my local dollar store – 10 roses (Just the flower and a wire so I have to make stems) for $1. I could not make them any cheaper so I bought the lot…10 packages was all they had but they should be getting more (I HOPE). If you live in Canada – try Dollarama, in the US try Dollar General. The roses are smaller but I thought they would be cute for the cake table and escort table and maybe for pommanders
