- Wedding: July 2013
ETA: We’ve gotten the most AMAZING responses to our DIY invitations. A friend, who works in the fashion industry in NYC, posted this photo to his page, along with the following words:
#ICANTWAIT Hmmm, is there another way to express how excited I am about July 27, 2013? I get to share this special day with my lovely & spectacular Ayanna Vest and her beloved Kelsey Hill. #IMONTHELIST #RSVP #VIP#PARTY #LOVE #FASHION #HAPPILYEVERAFTER This invite tho…#HANDMADE
I was hesitant to post these, because they aren’t nearly as fancy as a lot of people’s beautiful invitations. But then I thought…why not? They make me happy, and maybe there are other brides who aren’t into quite as many embellishments.
So…here’s my labor of love:
The inserts, after I printed them and my cousin cut them:
The individual mats as cut my my amazing cousin:
The inserts, matted, and ready to be inserted into the invitations:
Jimmy Uo being helpful…she only has one eye, but she’s a handful:
Our homemade belly bands…I love damask, but think it can be overpowering:
Here’s the envelope with the FIVE stamps they claimed I need (because the invitations made the envelope rigid).
This is what they’ll see in their mailbox:
And before I hand canceled each and every one:
This is the return address on the back:
This is what it will look like when the open the envelope:
I’m so excited. Thanks for looking!
