Please please please you need to let us know how you made this! You have inspired my wedding hairstyle! Seriously even just message me how you did the DIY veil!
The netting was purchased on House of Fabric. I got 1 yard (which is more than enough but allows you to mess up on one before you finalize your piece).
Materials:
1 off-white silk flower (I made mine from scratch): $8
1 yard of 18” of Russian netting : $9
Pearl and crystal beads:$0 (already had)
White Ostrich feathers: $5
Clear thread: $1.50
2 inch wire comb: $2.50
TOTAL: $26.00
Many other Bees’s inspired me to go the DIY route for my veil. Especially Mrs. Sea Breeze -- hers looked amazing in my opinion.
Honestly, this veil started out as a birdcage veil that would sweep to one side covering my eyes. However, to those of you who have worked with Russian Netting, you know what a pain it can be. I just could not get the netting to lay in a way that suited me personally. I soon decided that an the flower should be the focal point and the veil element be the accent piece… that was just more my style. Modern, yet timeless.
Instructions:
Honestly, this look is as easy or complicated as you want to make it. I loosely followed Mrs Sea Breeze’s post on how she created her veil and then consulted the instruction DIY Bride book by Khris Cochran
Is House of Fabric an online store? I found www.housefabric.com but I couldn't find the netting on that site. Is this a store you have to go to in person? I don't think we have them in my state.
