Sorry for the delay in replying. I’m doing 180 invites for roughly $130.
- 8 1/2 x 11 cardsock paper (red) (1 for each invite) – I got this from Michael’s, 4 card stocks for $1.00
- 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock paper (I did silver)
- 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock paper (I did white)
- Ribbon of your choice
- Scrapbooking tape (Went to my local craft store and asked for the strongest tape. She gave me tape that was 70 yards for $7)
- I cut the red cardstock to 10×7. I bought a paper cutter from our local craft store.
Finished 5 x 7 product
Scored a line at the 5″ mark (the middle of the cardstock)
From the score line, I marked 1″ up on each side (this is for lining up the ribbon in the later steps).
On the same side you marked the 1″ line for the ribbon. Mark 1/2″ down from the top of the paper.
On the opposite side of the cardstock, mark a line a little more than 1/2″.
Finished cardstock with the marks. Far left dash is slightly more than 1/2″. The middle line is 1″ to the right of the score line. And the far right line is marked at 1/2″.
I took a piece of cardboard and drew a circle line from a kitchen plate. So I lined that up at the 1/2″ and drew a line on the cardstock. Cut along the line, very carefully.
Take the ribbon and line it up on your 1″ mark.
Add a strip of tape to where you need the ribbon placed. Then push the ribbon into place. Repeat on the opposite side.
Start by placing the tape on the line that we marked at a little more than the 1/2″ and go all the way down to the point, but make sure you don’t go past the pointy end, otherwise you will have tape showing. Repeat on opposite side.
Line your envelope up carefully and close.
Take the bone tool and press down each of the sides & bottom. And then your envelope is complete.
I have not completely finished the insides of the cards yet. I think I’m going to do the white large card as the formal invite. This card, is about 4 3/4″ & little less than 6 1/2″.
The silver will be the reception card and on the back I’ll put the accomadations. This card is about 4 1/2 x 6″
And the small white one will be the response card. I made sure this card would fit in our response card evelopes.
I think the plan is to have my fiance to see how many of these cards he can fit on one 8 1/2″ x 11″ silver & white cardstock.
I hope this helps. Good luck. 🙂
