I took advantage of the $1 flip flop sale and scored a pair for my entire wedding party 🙂 The guys get just basic black but I wanted the girls to be special. My wedding colors are pink, brown and ivory so I decided to make the flip flops match. They’ll go with some DIY tank tops that I’m doing also and we can wear them while we’re getting dolled up the morning of, and they can wear them at the reception if they’re feet start to hurt!
Instead of just gluing down ribbon on the thong part I macramed them. Then added beads and the ivory flower. I also glued a coordinating ribbon around the outside of the sole. I didn’t want to leave the Old Navy logo on the inside sole so I removed it and added my own double hearts 🙂

Those are so cute! I just bought the flip flops for my wedding party too.
Would you mind answering some questions so I can make mine cute like yours too?
How did you add the double heart on the shoes? What size ribbon did you used and how much did it take for each flip flop?

Thanks! The ribbon is 1/8″, you can probably use 1/4″ too but I wanted to put the beads in the macrame. The ribbon was still too wide to fit through the holes so I glued them on and am going to go back and stitch them with ivory thread for more stability.
I bought a 10 yd. roll from Walmart that covered one flip flop with some to spare and then I bought a 18 ft. roll from Hobby Lobby that wasn’t quite long enough. Walmarts’ ribbon is cheaper, too so I would definitely suggest buying it there!
For the hearts I removed the Old Navy logo first using a cotton ball and some alcohol. I had a pack of stencils that I got in the glass etching section at Hobby Lobby with all kinds of wedding words and stuff. The stencils are sticky so I just pressed really hard to avoid bleeding and used a fine point paint marker to fill it in. If it does bleed a little you can clean up the edges with a q-tip 🙂 They’ll rub off just like the logo does but I just wanted a little something extra on there. You can probably use a fine tip sharpie on there and it might last longer!
Hope that help! If you have any more questions just let me know!
