I think it looks great for a Christmas wedding. But it needs a little something around it on the table. Maybe flower petals with candles? Just a suggestion. Nice work!
thank you. I have round mirrors and red and green candle holders to go around them….it’s the first time I have ever made a pomander and the jewels I made myself too…..I’m afraid they’re not perfectly round and will be noticeable…not sure if I should add more jewels??? decisions, decisions..what’s a bride to do with less than 3 weeks to go?
I think the pomander ball is too small for the vase below it. I believe it’s nice, don’t get me wrong…but I believe the vase is so massive and impressive that the pomander sort of shrinks on top of it.
I dont like it at all. No offense, but it doesn’t look balanced or pretty. The ornaments in the flowers are garish and the as someone mentioned, top is too small to accomodate the size of the vase.
Agree that pomander is too small for the base. I think the overall concept is pretty, but just could be better.
I was thinking the pomander was too small also…my first time making them so I will make the next one bigger……then I hope it will look okay
As long as you love it…Does it really matter what we think? I’d say go for it!
I agree the ball needs to be bigger, but I spent a LONG tiome on the red and green jewels so I hate to have to start over….I like your thinking LeaDawn, but I do appreciate positive comments and suggestions to help me make it better…thanks everyone
i LOVE the pomanders (if they were bigger), but i’m sorry i just don’t care for the LED lights… I would put branches, holly, hypericum berries, something natural to float in the bottom in the water. The light, IMHO cheapens the beautiful look of the flowers. I’m having a christmas wedding too, good luck with your plans!!
I’m afraid the lights will end up being too much for the overall look – what is the color of your linens? and the flowers and decoration? you need to consider that as well.
I like the jewels 🙂 good job!
I agree. The pom is much too small for the vase. Not really a fan of the jewels in the pom either. Kind of reminds me of those party favor rings you got as a kid. I think White LED lights would be much more elegant. Overall, it’s a good start/
I plan on making the pomanders bigger…double in size…those are 4″ so I’m gonna make them 8″
my table linens are white satin table cloth, white satin chair covers, then I have alternatind red and green satin table runners and chair sashes. I have gold rhinestone buckles for the baclks of the chairs for the sashes to feed thru. The chair sashes and runners are made out of a fabric that has a gold swirl pattern and then sequins in red/green….I will attach a picture of the fabric so you can see the red and the green runner. It took me a long time to make the bouquet jewels, I handmade 144 of them. They are gold and emerald and red..I will attach a close picture of them…the whole room is going to have red and green up lighting..that is why I pput the red and green led lights in them…thought it might tie in with the color of the room…..
I really appreciate everyone’s advice
First off I really like the jewels and if you spent a lot of time on them you should use them! I do think though that larger pomanders will balance out the vases. Also, if you are doing red and green uplights and you are alternating the red and green sashes and runners then you should definitely go with a soft white or amber color in the vase to soften the look and make the centerpieces glow.
