Hi, I think that is a great idea, however I did something similar for my fiance’s bday.  I bought it a couople months ahead of time, however, the chocolate went bad…unfortunately, I learned the hard way.  Anywho, I just wanted to let you know, maybe try freezing it or something (maybe that might help, not sure).  Anywho, I hope that info helps, and I really hope it works out, keep me updated.

Freezing chocolate changes the taste and texture of some brands

FYI Walmart (at least my local one did) has a 4 ct. ring pop pack marked down to $.50 making them $0.12 a pop. I looked them up on Sams Club for comparison and they have a 40 ct. tub for $12 where going the clearance candy route you get 40 ct. for $5. I doubt these will get bad before my July wedding. I also bought starburst red jelly beans (our colors are red and black) for $0.99. The expiration date isn’t until 2013 so I just put them in my cupboard where I store the rest of my food since that is all they would be doing at a warehouse anyway.

I’m getting married labor day weekend as well and you still have July 4th to get candy as well, although it won’t be much (unless you are looking for hershey kisses like I am for my wedding)
