- Wedding: October 2011
So glad a guest snapped a picture of their OOT box. I worked so hard on these. Unfortunately the hotel gave some of our guests bags from some other wedding, but oh well. I loved them and I am very proud of how they turned out.
I used kraft gable boxes from packagingsource.com. Mine measured 9x6x6. They were a little lighter weight than I hoped, so be careful how much stuff you put in. I also glued the bottoms for extra support. For reference, they are about the size of the 50 count Dunkin Donut munchkin box.
I bought the two different ribbons from Michael’s. This was the biggest pain. Luckily I only had to make 24. The stupid purple ribbon had wire in it, so it was difficult to cut. I measured and cut each one, then glued the orange to the purple on both sides. Then I glued the ends of the purple on the insides of each handle. We also used a tree stamp on one side and a stamp of leaves on the other.
Inside the box we included two water bottles, covered with the labels I made using our tree logo and our names. I also made “Oops, Ouch, Eek” kits using plastic pillow boxes from papermart.com. I borrowed this idea from here: http://diy.weddingbee.com/topic/oops-kit-for-oot-boxes
I used our tree logo labels again for this. Inside I put two Wet Ones singles, a Shout wipe, two small alcohol pads, two bandaids, two Advil packets, two bobby pins, two safety pins and a hair elastic.
The treats inside included two bags of Wise chips/snacks, a package of cookies, a biscotti, an apple, a small peanut butter, a tiny Nutella, a package of tissues, a pack of gum and a little baggy of crackers sealed with leaf stickers.
I purchased some of the items for the boxes on http://www.minimus.biz/. They sell all sorts of mini things and you don’t have to buy any certain quantity. However, after the fact, I was able to find the Shout wipes, Wet Ones singles and some other things for just about the same price at the Walmart/Target/grocery store. The Wet Ones come in boxes of 24, the Shout wipes in boxes of 12. The Jif peanut butters are in packages of 8 from your grocery store. The Nutella can sometimes be found at World Market (Bed, Bath & Beyond) but I bought them from the website. The chips and the cookies were purchased from the grocery store on sale in cases of 24 and 12. The biscotti were from Costco in a container of 25. The gum was also from Costco in packs of 18.
I also included a welcome letter and a homemade crossword puzzle made using this site: http://www.crosswordpuzzlegames.com/create.html
