I color coded the cranes for each guest based on their meal selection. I used a silver Sharpie which was perfect for writing the guest names on one wing and their table on the other wing.
These are great! We are making 1001 paper cranes and will use some of the cranes as escort cards too. I've found some good ideas online (hanging on branches, as "stands" for said escord cards, etc) so I'm always on the lookout for inspiration!
@Orchid38: I had initially planned on hanging them on branches also - I actually do have some cranes hanging on branches in the middle (I'll post pics later). But I decided against having the actual escort cards hang on the branches just because I thought it would have taken people a lot longer to find their names because there's no way to really alphabetize them easily. Just a thought! :)
Thank you! I made 1001 cranes for my wedding so the overall process for folding the cranes took some time but it really wasn't that bad (honest!). I've been making cranes since I was a kid but, honestly, if you want to make them it's not that hard. Once you make the first 10 and have memorized the steps, they go pretty quickly. You can also have friends over, pop in a movie, and have a folding party! :)
I love this! I did the 1001 cranes for gazebo decor, but worked more cranes into the centerpieces and favors (since I wanted to keep the 1001)! This is beautiful, and how awesome that it did double duty for meal selections!
