I posted a while back whan I did a mock up of our invites which you can see here
I liked them but I had already fallen in love with pocketfold invites so I set about making one. I wasnt about for fork out for premade pockets so I made them myself. I designed the invites and inserts on the computer and cut out each part by hand. I also embaossed the leaves on the tree to make it look a little more impressive, haha. It was all a very long process but completely worth IMO.
I actually forgot to take photos of the finished product so took one today of a invite I had already sent out while visiting a friends house. The pictures arent great and the invite is a little worse for wear now as you ca see by the bent invite and the fingerprint marks on the front from my friends children.
Anyway here is the finished product let me know what you think.
For those of you that want it here are the tree images.
Now for the ‘how to’…
First you need to make the pocket fold. You will need to draw out the pocketfold outline (using this template as a guide) onto an A3 (297 × 420mm) piece of cardstock. I chose a teal/petrol colour to match my bridemaid’s dresses.
Draw the pocketfold in pencil and use a pappercutter and/or a craft knife to cut it out. If you do the first one perfectly you can use it as a stencil to draw around to make drawing out the others easier.
gently score the folds and fold it up, glue the pocket in place (i used a hot glue gun):
Now you need to print the invitation on A4 (210x297mm) cardstock, I used white cardstock for this. Use the boarders to cut them to the correct size (you will see what you mean when you download the template.)
Next print the invite mount outline (essentially this prints two rectangles that you cut out to mount your invite onto) Mount your invite and then stick the whole thing onto your pocketfold.
Its now time to print the inserts…
Info, Menu, RSVP I printed one RSVP insert per guest which had their name on, this way there can be no guessing who is who when they RSVP. I printed all of the inserts onto white A4 (210x297mm) cardstock.
Put your inserts into your pocketfold. Seal the pocketfold with a glue dot.
Wrap a ribbon of your choice around the pocketfold and secure onto the silver mount you just cut out. Then glue the ‘happiness is’ tag you printed onto white card on top of this. Add 2 diamantes and your done.
There hope that makes sense to everyone 🙂 enjoy
