- Wedding: April 2012
After becoming engaged, my [web developer] fiance and I thought it would be neat if we each had our OWN wedding website (keeping the same necessary info on each). Well, which website would we include on our STDs? We ended up using both. The STDs that were sent to my family had my website, and the STDs send to my fiance’s family had his website. To do this, I decided to order our STDs from Moo.com. That way, I could have 2 different “images” for the backs – one with my website, one with his. The front of the STDs remained the same:
My fiance are getting married on our 3 year anniversary of meeting in person for the first time (we found each other online). My MOH said that when she first got this in the mail and saw the “2009” at the top, she was worried for a second that I’d listed the wrong date, lol. I designed the simple layout in Photoshop and added an edited picture of our demon baby:
The back of the STDs listed all the pertinent info, and our respective wedding sites. The cat is our own white sphynx. Yes, he is as evil as he looks. 🙁 I cannot express why we both felt the need to include him on our STD. He kinda just ended up there….
I was super happy with how the STDs turned out (they aren’t blurry in real person). The front was matte, while the back was glossy. However, they were a little pricey. i ordered 40 w/ envelopes and it was close to $60. I just recieved our invitations from Vistaprint (40 invitations, RSVP cards, + envelopes) and it was about half the price. Also, in the end we decided 2 different websites was WAAAYYY too much work, so we consolidated the 2 wedding websites down into 1. Looking back, going the Moo route was unnecessary. Oh well.
