I cannot take any credit for this – The best directions come from Mrs. Knit here on WeddingBee. I am not even going to recreate her directions – check out her picture-loaded complete tutorial.I also used GooseGrease on Etsy as a guide for how to incorporate details though it was much more fun to paint them myself then shell out that kind of money.
I did use paint markers primarily because I am more comfortable with drawing than painting. I recomend them (though I am not sure how to spell recomend). The peg people are from Hobby Lobby and were cheap and the paint markers are not cheap, but useful. I would say this project took me two-ish hours.
I am just going to show these off and admit that Mr. 10 looks like a zombie. As soon as he finds me some sandpaper I am going to try to sand off those baby blues and replace them with a shade darker or brighter blue. Mr. 10 also says he thinks we need mouths because his goatee looks like a brown mouth, but I need to practice that thin of a line. And if I can find a really fine white or silver sharpie I will outline the details of his suit and maybe some details of my dress. Once I get my idea for a button bouquet and boutionierre together I will add those details too.
But so far I like them and so does he! And now I just want to play with them – check them out in front of a painting 🙂
