- Wedding: August 2012
I saw a floral ribbon decoration while I was visiting the florist yesterday. I asked her how much they would be to recreate them, anit’s he said I’d be looking at $50/pew. Instantly I thought to myself, as I commonly say, “oh I can make that!”. So I went up to Hobby Lobby and went price shopping. Well they have their 50% sale on florals. (even with 50% off they are still making money, and that 50% price should be the full retail, ugh). I purchased “real feel, real look” flowers that are going to be the flowers for the wedding.
So I bought them and pulled up the inspirational photo on google and went to work. I cut the stems on the branches, wired them together in mini bouquets, and attached them with hot glue gun to the hanging green branch also from Hobby Lobby.
Lastly, I tied a bow with white satin trim ribbon (1-1/2″) from Michaels. I also bought 26 gauge wire which helpEd holding the mini bouquets together. I also bought little rhinestone picks that are in there too. I may hang a clear crystal drop doohickey from the main bouquet for added effect, maybe up light it. I wrapped in mini bouquets in green floral tape.
I added hypericum berries from Michaels too.
Sorry for the scattered message, I’m typing on my iPad and it’s not cooperating. Howver I hope it gives you an insight on what I did. Oh, final cost each pew decoration is $15.00! Savings!!
