my bridesmaid erin and i finished the poms while drinking a little wine. funny though-the next day our thumbs are sore! they turned out great. we are hanging them at different heights over the dance floor in the reception tent mixed with brown paper lanterns.

glad you all like them!
i bought the green floral styrofoam balls at michaels. i bought blue and brown hydrangeas. you have to cut the stem of each bloom. i bought some floral wire and wrapped it so 1 wire covered 4 sides of the ball, then looped the wire at the top because i plan to hang them from the tent with something clear like fishing line. other people have done this with ribbon though-then it would make a nice handle to carry it or if you are hanging it from somewhere lower than the ceiling of a tent. i just stuffed each flower stem (after cutting) into the ball. you could put hot glue on the end of the stem to make sure they stay in, but i didn’t because they seem like they are in there pretty good. i used a hot glue gun to glue down any of the petals that i thought stuck out too much. it’s really not as hard as i thought it would be, just a little time consuming AND my thumb hurt from sticking the flowers in! my friend and i did it while drinking a bottle of wine so it made it a little more fun 🙂 good luck!
