I finally finish putting my centerpiece together. I'm going to use a floating candle on the tall and two small vases. Putting an LED small light at the bottom of the tall vase. In the gold bell holder I will have a card that says something like ring a bell for a kiss.. lol everytime some rings a bell I have to give groom a kiss. Hopefully the kids dont drive me crazy with it.
I bought the materials from Michaels, orientaltrading.com, and dollar store.
I am thinking of doing something similar but in green and ivory tones. I love what you did with the red though, so bold and beautiful! May I ask did you use real or fake orchids? I am wondering if I can get away with doing a fake stem since they will be submerged under water and no one will be able to feel them or hopefully notice. I haven't done a mock up of my centerpieces yet so I was just curious :-) Great job!
Hi Mrs. Red Sox! I used fake orchids from Michaels and they were awesome! I bought the 24 inch vases from Michaels for $9.99 each after 50% coupons (reg price $19.99) and I think the orchids were $1.80 each after 40% coupons. They didnt bleed in the water and look so real!
I'm thinking of possibly getting 2-4 smaller vases and putting it together with orchids in them and have floating candles and all the other votives and tealights around it. If I do a demo I'll add the picture to this post ;-)
That is awesome! Thanks so much for the info! I was hoping you used fake flowers beacause they look so real and gorgeous! Plus it's a huge money saver, and being a budget DIY bride, that makes me super happy! I'm also thinking of doing the same thing with three different size vases. Something really similar to the picture I attached but with green cymbidium orchids and ivory candles. Love your napkin rings as well!
I love your centerpiece inspiration!! It is really beautiful and I saw vases around this size at Dollar Tree aka dollar store. Definitely go to Michael's to buy the fake orchids due to the quality and get the plastic one so it doesnt bleed.
I know what you mean being DIY bride.. I'm practically doing everything.. want to get the most bang for my buck plus do what I want ;-). Let me know if I can help with anything else and good luck!!
Your centerpieces are beautiful, especially in the 2nd photo with the light coming in from the window and shining through the flowers! I'd like to do something like this for my centerpieces but am still trying to figure it all out. Looks like I need a Michaels coupon!
thank you Josiepy! you can always download the coupons online or sign up to have the coupons sent to you via email. I loveee orchids and it truly look a lot better in person LOL...sometime the camera doesnt do it justice.
