I knew our ringbearers (stepson and baby) wouldn’t be comfortable in their suits for much longer than the ceremony, so I made them some shirts with a matching “tie” so they’d look like the groomsmen for the reception.
I used a piece of satin and traced out the tie shape from the little boy’s tie that came with the ring bearer’s suit. Then I cut it out and used Fray Check on the edges. I used Steam-A-Seam to iron the “tie” onto the shirt. Around the edges I stitched with embroidery floss to keep it in place and add a little home-made feel to it.
Everyone loved them and my stepson was so excited to put it on to “look like daddy”! He’s having fun in that picture playing with a photobooth hat 🙂
