As soon as i picked my wedding colors i knew I wanted to have Ruby Slippers. After a few days and a whole thing of glitter here they are….
They Started out Black…
And here are them after I went crazy with the glitter… 🙂
All I did was do a coat of modge podge and then glitter the entire shoe, let them dry for 24 hours and repeated it. After they dried for 48 hours just to be sure I sprayed them with a top coat spray and that kept the glitter from falling off as i walked. I LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes and they will be worn even after my wedding day!!

did you have any problems glittering in the crevices I have some similiar shoes that I wasn’t sure about using because they have a ribbon on it… It looks like it came out great.. Any words of wisdom?

Nope just make sure you have it completly covered with modge podge and the glitter will stick. I am so happy with how they came out.
After you put the glittle on tap the bottom to knock off the access don’t brush or touch the wet glitter it will smudge. If you do just add a little touch of modge podge and sprinkle more glitter. The best part is it does not have to be perfect little imprefections do not show.

I found doing it this way was too messy, there were sparkles everywhere. I found this link and it is a much better way of doing it. There is no mess at all. Using a brush instead of a sponge helps to lay all the sparkles flat. The mod podge seals the sparkles in so they dont fall off.
I hope this helps.

These are amazing. I tried to do a pair of mine, but they look…well home made. I’m going to sand it down and try again I think. I hope mine turn out like yours!
