Hello! I have used this site to get a lot of great ideas and thought I would pass on some of the DIY wedding things I have made.
I am having a rustic outdoors wedding and wanted something a little more permanent in terms of flowers. I found sola flowers at http://www.save-on-crafts.com/tapiocaflowers.html and ordered white ones and wood ones for all the VIPs.
Boutonnieres – I used precut burlap circles I found on sale at hobby lobby as the base. I cut two circles of fabric to add a pop of color that matches the fabric in the BM boquets (more on that in another post) and then the flower. I mixed up the flowers and fabrics to make unique boutonnieres for the wedding party and VIPs. For example, all of the GM get white flowers. FOB and FOG get wood flowers with a touch of lace. etc. etc. I added a pin to the back of the boutonnieres so that they don’t have to worry about getting a straight pin on the day of the wedding (and because they were on sale at JoAnnes). I am excited to see them on everyone!
Corsages – I had some leftover sola flowers and decided to make corsages for immediate family, grandmas, and moms. I used a circle of stiff fabric for the base and hot glued the sola flowers and fabric flowers I made. I added pearles where I could.
