- Wedding: July 2012
I knew I wanted save the dates because as a teacher, I figured I’d need to get married in the summer time. Most of our friends are teachers and the one thing we do well is go on vacation in the summer. I wanted to send out save the dates so our friends knew when we would be getting married, that way if they wanted to come then they were able to plan accordingly.
I used a 40% off coupon and got package of magnets at Michael’s. I think it was $9.99 for 50 before the coupon. I bought two packages. I created what I wanted in Word. (The company who makes the magnets has a template you can download.) It took me forever to get the printing right because the image was trying to come out extremely dark. I used a flower punch I got from Michael’s to put on there (I used an elmer’s glue stick) and a self-adhesive rhinestone.
What do you think?
This is the computer portion of it:
This is the finished product (in bad lighting)
They look so much better in person (I didn’t have great lighting). You just line up the magnets in your printer and print right onto the magnet. They weigh less than 1oz so you can mail them standard postage. 🙂
