So the wedding is over and I have finally had a chance to catch my breath! Whew! I planned my own wedding from the salt and pepper shakers to arranging flowers and tying chair covers for 120 people. It completely consumed my every thought for about the last 3 months but I have to say it was worth every sleepness night. It was an affair to remember and more perfect than I could have ever imagined! I will post some pics as soon as I get them because I can’t wait to share.
Okay. Enough gushing. Let’s get to the posting.
I had a southern vintage wedding and looked for months for the perfect pair of shoes to no avail. Then, one day I decided since I couldn’t find them, I would make them. Below is what I consider my masterpiece of everything I made for the wedding.
The lace you see is actually lace from my mother’s wedding dress and the brooches are from one of my grandmother’s jewelry box. These are so special to me because they reflected three generations of my family. I am in the process now of creating a memory box out of plexi-glass for these shoes and a few other momentos from the big day.
I have been considering making these for other brides. What do you think?
Please excuse the pictures, I don’t have any before I wore them for the night so they are showing a little dirt and wear and tear from wearing them on my wedding day.
