If you are having your wedding when the weather is super cold out, the shawl would look pretty in some outdoor photos but for ceremony and reception i'd say probably no because like the other bee's have said it takes away from the detailing on the beautiful dress you have...keep all eyes on that gorgeous dress!!!
Okay, I change my vote a little. Get the shawl, wear it outside, and then take it off inside. Your dress and the shawl are both so pretty, it would be a shame to not combine them SOMETIMES! I say, if you wear the shawl some of the time, you get a chance to show off both your dress AND the shawl!
I had a shaw for my Christmas wedding...one word of advice. I liked it for the coverage, but it was a pain to keep on...it kept sliding off my shoulders so you have to decide if you want coverage and not so comfortable.....just my opnion
